What are your Hobbies?

Thought I would start a thread about hobbies and what you like to do and maybe post stuff up you do.

Oh wow Tanja, your drawings are just amazing!
I just adore that one of the Baby Platypus, so detailed. You are so very talented!

Well I have a 9 month old so any hobbies I have often take a back stance to running after him, but when I do have time I enjoy writing poetry, I also have some novels that I have finished, and some not finished - I just love fiction writing in all forms. Poetry is really my passion though.

I also scrapbook, but with a young one it's hard to find the space to pull all my gear out without him wanting to be in the middle of it all lol. So you can imagine the mess that would cause.


I can't find my disk of poetry at the moment so here's one I have from a few years ago, just quick little one I wrote up one evening.

I grasp this petal tight until it's edges slice my skin
Open my mouth to speak its pain but only hear the violin
So I bring it to the fires edge and watch it curl in fear
If I could only toss it in the flames and watch it dissapear
But my fingers close around this small forget-me-not
Hidden away from prying eyes afraid he might get caught
Soon the leaves will wilt, and the petals fade away
The emotions held inside my hand will eventually decay
The season which brought my flower is leaving me again
But the memories my flower brought, with me will remain

Wow that is so beautiful you could do a whole book of poetry if they are all similar to that it gave me goosebumps reading it. I'm lost for words but its so beautiful.

Just wanted to say WOW! Your drawings look like photographs! Seriously! You are so talented! The twilight ones of Bella and Edward are Amazing! I cant draw a Portrit to save myself, once when we were at school, our art class had to do self portrits, then the the next grade above us had to guess from the drawing who it was, mine they said was a Guy named Ryan, a guy!! Shows how well i can draw!!

Do you display your drawings in an exibition? (sorry me spelling is shocking)

Thank you so much I never really used to draw I mainly did wearable art painting portraits and stuff on fabric but it wasn't what I loved I preferred the design work drawing what I wanted first so in 2007 I decided I want to draw full-time.
I've only ever done one exhibition but have entered the local artshow every year since 2008 and have sold commissions no one has brought any of my originals but have brought prints.

My daughter is 25 and although she lives with me She spends a lot of time with her boyfriend - which means I can do whatever I want!

I read a lot and have a DS which I spend far too much time playing (I like RPGs).

I am also a mad cricket and AFL fan. I am a member of the WACA (cricket) and go to all the WA and Aus games. I am also a non-seated member of the Eagles (watch on TV) and a member of my local club Subiaco (go to these games). Because I have Foxtel I watch a lot of sport - in fact that was the main reason why I got Foxtel, though I do find plenty of other things to watch.

I am on school holidays at the moment I can indulge in all my lazy pleasures - not much else is happening!

I don't really have any 'hobbies' i guess casue i have felt so down on myself to do anything i like doing.
Lack of money doesn't help also.
One think i did was start my cake decorating business, i guess thats a hobby still though cause i'm not advertising it a a business yet mainly just word of mouth and i have a FB page www.facebook.com/cakesbyjo
Once the kids are in school and i can save money on childcare fees i would love to start it as a business properly and hopefully by then i will have more decorating expreince.
Before the kids i was seeing a PT and he did Kickboxing with me which i LOVED and i must admit it helped with any anger i had. I would love to get into that one day once i lost more weight....i think it would take me at least 30-40kg to get that sort of confidence back again but thats ok cause i have my whole life ahead of me now.

Other than that i my kids take up all my other time.

I'm going to force myself to start using my WII again though and if i can show myself i can use it for 4 weeks then i'm going to buy myself the Zumba game for my birthday.

facebook takes up most of my time aswell, have to have my daily facebook fix.
